Patch UI gives you cohesive application components without adding a library runtime to maintain. Use the standard shadcn registry to copy source directly into your project, then adapt it as your product evolves.
How it works
$npx shadcn@latest add @patchui/button
The registry copies Button, its shared recipes, utilities, dependencies, and design tokens into your repository. There is no @patchui/react package in the consuming application.
What you own
- The source. Components become ordinary files in your repository. Change their behavior and interface when your product needs it.
- The design system. Shared tokens keep copied components visually aligned while remaining easy to override.
- The update decision. Re-run the registry command when you want upstream changes, then review the resulting diff alongside local customizations.
